Aspire One and Touchpad
I'm writing this one in english so it can be accessible to more people having an Aspire One.
Yesterday night, my touchpad mouse stopped responding. For no clear reason. So I went to bed and told myself it would be ok when I would start the netbook again.
This morning, however, surprise, it was not working either. Since I can dual boot, I switched to Windows and... it didn't work either... Out of luck.
So I had two solutions : bring my netbook back and ask for a repair or think what could be the cause of it. One of the things I have seen in my life is devices not responding because of bad design letting them in weird states or softwares letting them in those states (even BIOSes). I remember, under Vista, if I had a USB device in one particular port on my other computer, I had to unplug and plug back all my devices after booting or none would work (not doing it under Linux or Seven). On another computer, my network card would stop working in some conditions that I've never figured out, but stopping the computer, unplugging the power and pushing the start button for a couple of seconds would do the trick after starting it back.
So, I told myself that I could try the same with my netbook. I unplugged USB devices and power, removed the battery and waited a couple of seconds. Plugged back battery and power, started the netbook and this time the touchpad mouse worked.
I'll be watching this behavior if it ever happens again, it might be the new BIOS I put in a couple of weeks ago (for the LCD backlight) or a mismatch with the new USB devices... or simply a faulty device that needs to be replaced.

It happened a second time yesterday. Everything seems to point to a Linux problem. For some reasons, since the last kernel update for Karmic Koala Alpha 6, some problems appeared. Since it's not the latest 2.6.31, I hope it will be fixed.
Sometimes, the AGP interface is not correctly initialized and even if glxinfo reports DRI enabled, OpenGL runs slowly. I've found the error message in the log. The solution is to reboot the machine.
When the touchpad mouse freezes, instead of unplugging everything, boot Linux and if it's still frozen, restart again. It worked for me.
There are some other errors in the log that I need to figure out.
